Storytelling Meetup At The Harn: Labor

This month's meetup is about labor. There are so many ways that we labor and so many things that labor means to us in our lives. We experience physical labor, intellectual labor, emotional labor. Labor builds community. Labor can mean many different things. What role has labor played in your life? As always our themes are open to your interpretation. The exhibition “History, Labor, Life: The Prints of Jacob Lawrence” may inspire you.

PLEASE NOTE: July's Meetup is at The Harn Museum of Art, and is part of Museum Nights! We encourage you to arrive early and participate in the different activities happening at The Harn. We will be in the Asian Wing of the Harn. (So please no yelling, stomping, beat-boxing or music as part of the stories.

So, how does this work? Our storytellers are given 5-7 minutes to tell their story.

The first half of the evening will consist of stories that were submitted to us ahead of time after which time, we will open the floor to anyone to share their story!

If you want to share, please send a message to Self Narrate on Facebook or to info@selfnarrate.com with a brief outline of your story (2-3 sentences). The reason for this is that it is best to prepare your story ahead of time, practicing how the story can be told in 5 minutes. (The time goes fast!)
We need your story submissions by Monday, July 9!

This meetup will be at The Harn Museum of Art on July 12, from 7:30-8:30PM.
