Being able to tell your story has never been more important.

We’re good at two things: people and stories. We help people tell authentic stories as individuals and groups. We use storytelling to help empower people to understand their experiences, connect and solve problems.

Speaking Engagements

Self Narrate's professional speakers are available to inspire and motivate your team on the power and impact of storytelling for personal growth. Here is an example from TEDxUF: Honor Your Story, Discover Your Sound. We are available for team meetings, student groups, conferences and more. Contact us below for more information.

Giving Back

Bringing Self Narrate into your organization doesn't just open doors to new opportunities for the people you serve and your own stakeholders, but it also helps to empower the lives of a myriad of at-risk and marginalized individuals you may never have the chance to connect with your yourselves. Each workshop that we facilitate for your organization provides an underserved population with a Self Narrate workshop at no cost. This means that your investment in Self Narrate not only harnesses the power of our method toward your organizational mission, but also extends toward the empowerment of others beyond the reach of your direct work at a 1-to-1 ratio.  Even if your organization does not work in the space of the underserved populations with whom we work, your commitment to supporting Self Narrate will help extend your hand toward these individuals. That's an impact you can always take pride in helping make happen.

Testimonials

Self Narrate has been an exceptional choice in UF Hillel’s board development process. Their workshops have helped our team’s formulate each of our personal strengths, so that collectively, we could identify our distinct mission and tell our unique organizational story.
— Rabbi Adam Grossman, CEO, University of Florida Hillel
Self Narrate was a wonderful choice for our program! Brandon and Jaron helped students to better articulate how they will apply what they have learned through their campus and/or community involvement to their post-graduation plans. Students were challenged to think about their college experiences holistically and how those experiences will impact their future.
— Chloe Lipking, University of South Florida Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement
My experiences with Self Narrate have been phenomenal. The art of storytelling is simple yet extremely complex. The Self Narrate workshop facilitates the ability to find purpose and meaning in your individual lived experiences and guides you through a transformational analysis process that enhances confidence, assertiveness and the ability to connect with yourself and others. I have applied these tools to my personal life as well as on an organizational level and found that the art of self narration encompasses a mind body soul approach to living with purpose. Brandon and Jaron are skilled communicators who understand that empowering individuals, groups and organizations begins with active listening and valuing the unique stories and experiences that every individual has. These tools have elevated my clinical practice as an occupational therapist, my leadership ability as a manager, and my contentment and compassion as a wife, mother and friend.
— Becky Piazza, MS, OTR/L, Clinical Coordinator at UF Health Shands Rehab Hospital
Participating in the Self Narrate Persuasive Story Development workshop challenged me to assess some of the work habits I’ve fallen into and guided me through a new process that will impact how I do my job moving forward.
— Marilyn Headley, Health Policy Specialist, Florida Department of Health - Alachua County
My favorite thing in the world is writing with others, to prompts. For years I enjoyed that kind of writing workshop, as a participant and as a leader. However, nobody had ever asked me to tell my story before, so I’d never thought about it, and I didn’t know my story. Self Narrate’s story development was different from my previous experiences. Instead of making things up, we had the opportunity to get it down. Without realizing it, I’d been stuck on some of the things about my life I could not control. I wrote several drafts, then did a lot of cutting. Things that were a downer, I got rid of. To tell my story in 10 minutes, something had to go. I also realized the goals I’d been professing lately were not my real goals. To be specific, I’d been saying I wanted to spend the rest of my life growing socially and adventureously. But when I started cutting and pasting my life story, those things were not true for my real self. Instead, I realized my truest goals were to find ways to be useful and to find my place in the world. After I told my story, I felt relieved, because I managed to tell my story and to tell it in a way that makes sense to me. I also felt like a champion, because I accepted a worthy challenge.
— Anne Taylor, Personal Story Development Workshop Participant
I took part in an informal workshop led by Self Narrate at frank. This is a conference with a strong focus on professional communication, so when I joined this session I never imagined it would have such a big impact on me as a person. I ended up telling my story and received nothing but warmth and encouragement in return. Brandon and Jaron were great at creating a nice, relaxed environment to explain the importance of sharing our stories. I’m definitely going to apply those principles on my work and life.
— Débora Miranda (from Portugal, living in Germany)
